And my only granddaughter is also named Gracie.Four generations connected by one beautiful name.And 1942 is the year my mother was born.So when I named my company Gracie & Co. 1942, I wasn't simply choosing a name for a business. I was putting my family's story into it.I am a third-generation soap maker, and the tradition of making soap has been passed down through my family. For me, creating soap is about more than making a product. It is about carrying something forward—something made by hand, with care, that connects one generation to the next.I have always been creative. I have been an artist, a chef, and eventually a soap maker. Making things with my hands has always been a part of who I am.But soap became something especially meaningful.There is something beautiful about taking simple ingredients and turning them into something people use every day. I wanted to create products that were not only beautiful, but thoughtfully made—with ingredients chosen for their qualities, their nourishment, and the experience they provide.That belief became the foundation of Gracie & Co. 1942.Our soaps and body-care products are handcrafted in small batches using carefully selected ingredients such as nourishing oils and butters, botanicals, clays, oats, coconut milk, olive oil, and other skin-loving ingredients.I believe in keeping things honest.I don't want to make something simply because it looks beautiful on a shelf.
