Our Story

A name passed down. A tradition carried forward.

The story of Gracie & Co. 1942 begins with a name.

My mother's name is Grace. My name is Gracie. My only daughter's middle name is Gracie. And my only granddaughter is also named Gracie. Four generations connected by one beautiful name. And 1942 is the year my mother was born.

So when I named my company Gracie & Co. 1942, I wasn't simply choosing a name for a business. I was putting my family's story into it.

I am a third-generation soap maker, and the tradition of making soap has been passed down through my family. For me, creating soap is about more than making a product. It is about carrying something forward — something made by hand, with care, that connects one generation to the next.

I have always been creative. I have been an artist, a chef, and eventually a soap maker. Making things with my hands has always been a part of who I am. But soap became something especially meaningful. There is something beautiful about taking simple ingredients and turning them into something people use every day.

Our soaps and body-care products are handcrafted in small batches using carefully selected ingredients: nourishing oils and butters, botanicals, clays, oats, coconut milk, olive oil, and other skin-loving ingredients. Every ingredient has a purpose. Every recipe is created with intention.

I don't want to make something simply because it looks beautiful on a shelf. I want to make something that is beautifully made.

Every bar represents hours of work, generations of knowledge, and a little piece of me. And that's what I hope people feel when they hold one of our products. Not just soap. A piece of tradition. A reminder that some of the most meaningful things in life are the things we pass down.
