How to Make Shower Steamers Last Longer

If your shower steamer fizzes away in two minutes, don't worry. It's usually just where you put it. Here are my best tips to make it last.

1. Keep It Out of the Direct Spray

This is the number one tip. Put the steamer on the floor near the edge of the water, where it only gets light splashes.

2. Try a Shelf or Ledge

A corner shelf or ledge that gets a little mist is perfect. It will fizz slowly and last longer.

3. Use a Small Dish

Set it on a small soap dish with holes. That keeps it from sitting in a puddle.

4. Close the Bathroom Door

This doesn't make the steamer last longer, but it keeps the scent in the room so you can enjoy it more.

5. Break It in Half

If you take short showers, break a steamer in half and save the other piece for tomorrow.

6. Store Them Somewhere Dry

Moisture makes steamers start fizzing early. Keep them in a dry drawer or closet, not in the steamy bathroom.
