The Art of Handcrafted Soap: How We Make Every Bar
People often ask me how we make our soap. It's the same way soap has been made in our family for three generations: slowly, by hand, with care. Here's a peek behind the scenes.
Step 1: Choose the Ingredients
Every bar starts with the same three good things: shea butter, coconut milk and kaolin clay. Then we add plant oils, plus the scent and extras for each bar, like oats, honey, sea moss or turmeric.
Step 2: Measure Carefully
Soap making is part art and part science. Every oil and butter is weighed exactly, so the finished bar is gentle and safe.
Step 3: Mix
We blend the oils and butters with lye. This starts a natural reaction that turns them into soap and glycerin. That's called the cold-process method.
Step 4: Pour
We pour the soap into molds. This is where the colors and swirls happen, and why no two bars look exactly the same.
Step 5: Pipe (for Signature Bars)
For our Signature soaps, we hand-pipe the tops, one bar at a time. It takes patience and a steady hand.
Step 6: Cut
After the soap sets, we cut it into bars.
Step 7: Cure
The bars rest on racks for weeks. As they cure, they get harder, milder and longer-lasting. You can't rush this part.
Step 8: Wrap and Send
Finally, we wrap each bar and send it to you.
Why It's Worth It
Handmade soap takes time. But it means we know exactly what goes into every bar, and we can make something we're proud to put our family name on. No sulfates, no shortcuts.

A little about us: I'm Gracie, a third-generation soap maker. My grandmother started our family's soap making, and I'm proud to carry it on. We're a small, faith-centered family business in Waddell, Arizona, and we make everything by hand in small batches.
