Where to Put a Shower Steamer

Where you put a shower steamer makes a big difference in how long it lasts and how much you can smell it. Here are the best spots.

Best Spot: The Floor, Near the Edge of the Water

Set the steamer on the shower floor, a little away from where the water hits most. It should get light splashes, not a full stream. This is the sweet spot.

Also Great: A Corner Shelf or Ledge

If your shower has a ledge that gets a little mist, that works too. It will fizz slowly and the steam will rise close to your face.

Try a Small Dish

A soap dish with holes keeps the steamer from sitting in a puddle, so it lasts longer.

Where NOT to Put It

• Right under the shower head. It will melt in a minute or two.
• In a puddle. Same problem.
• Where you'll step on it. It can get slippery.
• On your skin. Steamers aren't soap. Don't rub them on your body.

• Close the bathroom door.
• Use warm water so there's more steam.
• Take slow, deep breaths.
